WAS Robin Hood a Yorkshireman?
This was the question put to the members of Hebden Royd Probus Club at their monthly meeting in Mytholmroyd Community Centre..
Mr John Billingsley gave members an illustrated talk on folklore, starting with Robin Hoods “grave” at Kirklees Priory and questions of who he was and the connections to Cat”i”Well and three Nuns public houses.
The tales of folklore also included various remedies for illnesses from toothache to gout and symbols of good luck
Thanks were expressed by Mr Bob Farthing and Mr Graham Cansdale presided.
