CHILDREN have shown lots of bottle by creating a greenhouse using more than 1,000 plastic drinks containers.
Pupils at Castle Hill School, together with a group of students from Todmorden High School, built the eco-friendly greenhouse by stacking bottles on top of each other in a timber frame.
Headteacher Hannah Mulholland said: “They have all worked really hard. It’s going really well.”
Pupils have been planting lots of seeds and the gardening club has been using the greenhouse to grow plants for the school’s allotment.
Mrs Mulholland said the local collection depot provided a special skip for people to donate empty plastic bottles to use in the construction of the greenhouse.
“A big thank you to all the families who donated bottles for the greenhouse,” she said.
“We have some spare bottles if any other schools in the area want to come and have a look.”
