A PASSENGER has criticised a bus service operator after two buses in succession for the same route did not arrive recently.
Mr Leslie Westney was waiting at Todmorden Bus Station with his twin brother George, who is disabled and uses a wheelchair, for the 4.10pm bus to Ashenhurst on Tuesday, February 7.
But when neither it nor the next T1 service bus arrived the 62-year-old had to push his brother in his wheelchair uphill to Dineley Avenue.
Mr Westney said his main criticism was that there was no communication to passengers as to what was happening. “You’re just stood there waiting and all of a sudden the electronic timetable changes on to the next one,” he said.
The service operator, Tyrer Bus, has written to Mr Westney apologising, citing mechanical issues with two of the company’s vehicles which had impacted on the service that day.
The company did not wish to comment further.
