CALDER Valley MP Craig Whittaker married Elaine Wilkinson at The Chapel of St Mary Undercroft, Palace of Westminster.

The ceremony was followed by a meal in the Churchill Room, and evening drinks at Westminster Terrace.

The bride wore an oyster coloured silk gown designed by Maggie Sottero from Staite Room at Todmorden. Her bridesmaids were Faye Watson, Abby Gaughan, Sophie Whittaker and Beth Whittaker. She was given away by her son Adam Watson.

The best man was the MP’s brother Neil Whittaker, who had travelled from Australia. The usher was Craig’s son, Lee. The couple, who live at Rastrick, bought their flowers, cake and dresses from Calder Valley shops.

“It was a wonderful day. There was no hitches it was perfect,” said Mr Whittaker. “The service was beautiful and the meal was fantastic. The evening bash was held on the terrace where we had a five-piece band playing.”
