About 200 former Calder High School students - many of whom have not seen each other for 30 years - are meeting in Hebden Bridge later this month.
The Class of 83 reunion will see people from as far afield as New Zealand and America arriving to catch up and dance to the music of the era.
Organisers Charles Birch, who lives in Leeds, Domonic Mann, now in Holland, and Hebden Bridge resident David Gill have promoted the event using social media sites, private email and word of mouth.
Charles said: “For those who are unable to attend we’ve received video messages which will be played on the night and the plan is to link up ‘live’ with a number of friends living abroad via Skype.”
They contacted more than 180 people for the ticket-only event at Hebden Bridge Town Hall’s Waterfront Hall on Saturday, May 18, with proceeds going to charities that relate to some of their peers (Cancer Research UK, New Start Wythenshawe Transplant Centre and the Upper Calder Valley Flood Fund.
