StoryMagic presents ‘The Magic of Christmas’ at the Little Theatre. The festive variety show including singing, dancing and magic celebrates everything that makes Christmas special. It runs until New Year’s Eve and includes toddler friendly performances at 11am and another showing at 3pm each day. The Upper Calder Valley Walking Group’s first walk of 2012 will be a six-mile Todmorden circular. Meet at the Stansfield Road car park to set off at 10.30am. The New Year’s Day treasure hunt will begin at 10am. The gentle walk around the scenic Mytholmroyd countryside is suitable for all the family. Each family will receive a sheet of clues and a basic outline of the route, which starts and finishes at the fire station. Tea, coffee and cakes will be served. The latest start time is 12.30pm. Admission is £2 for adults, £1 for children and £5 for a family.

Live singer and guitarist Ricky Dennis will provide the music for a New Year’s Eve party night at Heptonstall Social and Bowling Club from 7.30pm. Free entry.
