Woman rescued from upturned car

TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill after a car flipped onto its roof on Rochdale Road, Todmorden.

The incident happened on Friday morning, May 27, at about 11am.

Police, paramedics and a fire crew were called to the scene outside the Todmorden News office.

Emergency services personnel helped to free a woman from the upturned black Vauxhall vehicle.

She was taken to hospital but was said not to be seriously injured.

Rochdale Road was closed in both directions for just under two hours. Drivers faced lengthy tailbacks before the road was re-opened at about 1pm.
