The Mayor and Mayoress of Todmorden, Coun Jayne Booth and Michaela Booth, were on hand to award the winners their prizes at the annual two-day art exhibition at Todmorden Town Hall last weekend.

Artists based at Todmorden Art Group’s Platform One art gallery, which is based at Todmorden Railway Station, hold the exhibition every year and entrants from far and wide can take space to exhibit their art work.

Local schools are also asked to send in students’ art work and the winners received prizes from the Mayor, all receiving art materials.

Because of the traffic delays due to roadworks near to the Town Hall at the weekend, some of the young prizewinners were late arriving and the Mayor has been praised for making sure they received a warm welcome and congratulations - see letters pages 14 and 15 for more details.

Otherwise people were able to look around and view a wide range of artists’ work.
