Everyone matters but only in Halifax

THE motto of Calderdale Council is “Everyone different, everyone matters”.

It seems to me the only people who matter are those living in Halifax, as this is where all the council tax is spent- covered streets, new entertainment complexes, Piece Hall alterations, glass covered walkways, proposed demolition of a perfectly sound library costing millions of pounds.

When it comes to funding organisations which benefit vulnerable people in society then tough.

My son attends Calder Valley Club twice weekly which helps him enormously after suffering a stroke in June 2010. It also gives his wife much needed respite.

I believe the withdrawal of funds is a kick in the teeth of vulnerable residents of Calderdale.
