Modern cameras record more than the human eye can perceive - they pick up imagery from the infrared band as well.

By analogy - dogs hear higher notes/sounds/frequencies than humans - digital cameras likewise “see” into other realms and that data is recorded but not seen by the human eye at the time of taking the shot.

This is why there are so many shots of orbs and other anomalies available since digital cameras came along.

I know of what I speak having been a photo-journalist and film maker starting in the days of the Bolex and 16mm black and white film and on into the days of Nikons and 35mm.
