Let Coalition parties know what you think

Longfield Road,

Todmorden.

I HAVE responded to Olwen Jennings’ circular as follows.

“Dear Olwen and team, please let me know by mid-April of any action you have taken to press the Lib Dems to withdraw from the Cameron-Clegg coalition and to pursue rather than break election pledges, and of any response received, thank you.”

In this connection I have placed a mention on the agenda of Todmorden Town’s annual parish meeting. This event will be held at Todmorden Town Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 13, and all voters in the township are eligible to attend, speak and vote.

My proposal is that we write, as from the meeting, to the Liberal Democrat Party calling on it to withdraw from the Coalition and to Craig Whittaker MP asking him to alert the Tories to be ready to move to minority Government.

Town Meetings of this type have statutory status and I hope that many local electors will attend and use the opportunity to make their views known on what has happened since the General Election of last May.
