Calderdale, would like to thank and commend Sergeant Michael Bowden for all his efforts and utmost concerns for the well-being and interest he showed towards making our community a safer and happier place to live by his professional courteous and diplomatic manner portrayed befitting a policeman undertaking his responsibilities for the people of Todmorden and Calderdale.

He will be greatly missed by the people of Todmorden who appreciated his positive public appearances with his off and on duty contributions, attendance and presentations to various committees, Town forums and youth groups, demonstrating the utmost importance of the relationship he encouraged between the police and local authorities to work together with other key agencies and the community to formulate and implement a crime and disorder strategy for reducing crime and disorder, including anti-social and other behaviour adversely affecting the local environment, combatting the misuse of drugs, alcohol and other substances and reducing re-offending in the area.

We convey to Sgt Bowden, on his retirement from the Police force, our gratitude for his long and illustrious service, for his wise contribution to the community, of the procedure of the police and the publics understanding and appreciation of his work, for his leadership and professionalism in the discharge of his duties as a respected member of the police and the community, and for the courteous and helpful advice always given to any members of the public.

We wish him all the best in his new endeavours.

Coun Chris Baksa,

(Todmorden Town Council)
