There is no other path to take

Thanks to the Conservatives and George Osborne, Britain will be the best performing major economy in the developed world this year, and will grow at nearly twice the pace of the US.

The International Monetary Fund now expects output in the UK to rise by 3.2 per cent in 2014, leaving rival economies such as the U.S.,Germany, and France trailing behind.

Britain has delivered one of the few surprising upturns this year while the global outlook has deteriorated.

Ministers have said that Britain is now in the fast lane of recovery following the deepest slump in post war history.

George Osborne’s austerity policies are working with gross domestic product forecast at 2.9 per cent, the largest upgrade for any country.

Getting public finances in order has raised business confidence and restored growth in the economy creating new jobs. This is a big coup for the Chancellor, and locally we have low levels of unemployment.

We need to sing the praises and thank businesses in our area, getting them recognised out there for all they do for West Yorkshire.

At a Business Breakfast in Mytholmroyd recently it is clear that people are working together to make sure that transport, especially across the Pennines, and education in our schools are fit for purpose for our school children and people locally to take them forward.

It is just 9 months before the General Election and Labour has no clear, positive message on the economy. It has no policies to persuade voters, and no clear target audience thanks to Ed Milliband’s leadership.

The choice is yours.

Merry Christmas.
