HARD work by players and supporter paid off in the most positive way ... hard cash. Karen Marshall, service quality manager for the NatWest Bank in Rochdale, presented a cheque for £500 to Walsden Cricket Club in recognition of their involvement in the NatWest Cricketforce day.
The money will help pay for the materials used to spruce up the Scott Street ground on the eve of the 2006 season.Five bank employees, led by Karen, helped paint the perimeter fence, Walsden being entitled to claim £100 per volunteer from the bank.

Pictured receiving the cehque from Karen are: Paul Gale (Walsden CC child welfare officer), Jonathan Green (club chairman) and Allan Stuttard (cricket chairman)
