TODMORDEN have had to wait for professional Gulam Bodi to arrive but, on the evidence of Saturday's game at Burnley, the South African is worth the wait.
He took a wicket and hit an unbeaten 50 as Todmorden recorded their second 12 point win of the season.

Once again conditions were ideal for swing and seam bowling and captain Jon Henderson had no hesitation in asking the home side to bat after win
ning the toss.

He accounted for opener Ben Law himself and with Bux chipping in with three wickets, including professional Jeeva Kulatunga, as Burnley slumped to 21 for 4.

Bux ended with 4 for 29 from 14 excellent overs and he was given superb support by James Morgan, 2 for 26, and Oliver Wood who chipped in with 2 for 14 from 3 overs as Burnley were bowled out for 101 after 38 overs.

Chasing down small totals proved to be no easy task for Todmorden at times last season but they were never in any real dangers on Saturday, even if they took until the 34th over to hit the winning runs.

Simon Newbitt and Matthew Brierley gave them a steady, but solid start, Newbitt dominating the opening stand of 37 before he was dismissed by Bharat Tripathi for 24.

Brierley followed for 14 and Alistair Harrison and Henderson both fell in quick succession but by this time Bodi was firmly in control in the middle.

He completed his 50 with the winning stroke of the game, having hit five fours and two sixes in his stay, and looked to be fully in control of events.

Bodi would probably have backed himself for more runs against Ramsbottom on his Centre Vale bow on Sunday but yet again rain washed out the entire programme which will now be played on June 14.
