TEENAGE cycling star Scott Woodhead represented Yorkshire in the three-day North West Youth tour.
First up was a prologue where he came 15th and later in the day there was a criterium, held in windy conditions along the Blackpool seafront.

e with teams from Holland and Belgium among those taking part.
Sunday's stages three and four were in Lancaster where Scott, after a stern talking to from his coach, produces an amazing ride and put together a super tactical race.
Sitting in the bunch, he launched an attack with three miles to go. Another rider went with him and, on the final lap, the two collided and brought down a number of riders in the chasing peleton.

This seemed to fire Scott up as he felt that he had missed out on a win. As a result on stage four - another 30-mile circuit race – he launched a solo attack. On the final lap two other riders took up the chase and caught him.
Exhausted, Scott dug in a finished third in the sprint for the line - seven seconds in front of the bunch of 68 other riders.
This gained Yorkshire some valuable points on their way to second place behind the West Midlands team.
This weekend Scott travels to Margham Park in Wales and swaps his road bike for his mountain bike for round three of the national mountainbike series.
