A YOUNG football fan from Todmorden won the chance to be a mascot at a recent Championship match.
Ashley Thomas, eight, of Derby Street, was picked as the lucky winner of a Smooth Radio competition to be one of the mascots at Nottingham Forest's home game against Leicester City at the City Ground – a game that the high-flying Nottingham side won 5-1 in front of a crowd of over 28,000.
David Keech, Ashley's dad, said: "He had a VIP day, met all the players, had his photo taken with the team and got their autographs.
"It was a great experience. He's a Forest fan now."
Ashley is a keen footballer and plays for Todmorden Sports Centre's junior section.
