NINE members of Todmorden Homing Society sent 163 birds to Cheltenham for last week's race.
They were liberated into a south-westerly wind, raising hopes for top speeds.

First to clock, flying 125 miles to Lydgate in 111 minutes, was K Thorp, just a second ahead of Mick and Tina Law. Lee Brennan finished third.
