TSC'S otherwise excellent season ended on a low note, with this home defeat by Warley Whites.
Todmorden were never really able to recover from a very slow start, and didn’t really get going until very late in the first-half by which time they were already 3-0 down. Although the defence may not have been up to standards, Cotton, Midgley and Sutcliffe all put in maximum effort, and after this disastrous start hardly allowed the visitors another chance.
In midfield Hollas was a constant source of invention for TSC and it was his high, looping shot that gave the home side some hope of getting back into the match in the 20th minute.
Frewin and Lorimer worked hard while, up front, J Lorimer carved out some good chances, and Scott was rewarded for his tireless display when he slotted home late in the second half.
But it was too little, too late – as Warley had snuffed out Todmorden’s hopes midway through the second half.
