LEAGUE leaders Bridgeholme suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of an Old Town side which had lost the last four Halifax League second division games.
Mohammed Basharat signalled a return to form with 64 but was one of six victims for Andrew Butterworth.

Iqbal, 49, and Abbass, 40, were also among the runs and with the weather closing in Bridgeholme declared on 221 for nine.

That total was reduced to 195 by rain and Paul Thwaites (59 no) took Town to within sight of victory before Butterworth (32 no) helped him over the winning line despite a five-wicket haul from Ditta.

The second team match between the two sides was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
