TODMORDEN danced round any April showers to go fourth in the SponsorBank Lancashire League following two wins last weekend.
It rained in plenty of places elsewhere last Saturday but the sun shone on Centre Vale as professional Gulam Bodi's 66 helped them land the first ten of a 22-point weekend from a match which was rain-reduced to 32.5 overs per side.

Champions Risht
on had first use of the wicket and began in steady style with wickets falling infrequently.

Opener Richard Rostron had made 55 when he was bowled by Bodi after Tiarnan Hammill had made 26 before being trapped lbw by Todmorden skipper Jon Henderson.

Pro Saeed Anwar (33 no) and SJ Hacking (2 no) were at the wicket when the rain which ended Rishton's innings arrived.

Todmorden needed to score fairly briskly when their turn came and with Bodi launching four sixes and hitting three fours in his unbeaten 66, they certainly had it in them. There was good support from openers Simon Newbitt (18) and Matthew Brierley (20), Stuart Priestley contributing 12 and Henderson the same when the winning runs were struck in the seven-wicket win.

A day later and it was off the Lanehead where hosts Bacup took first use of the wicket.

Opener Paul Gallagher top scored with 52 and batted through the innings before being last mann out but Bodi and James Morgan, aided by Mo Bux and Henderson, were doing real damage with the ball and limited them to a total of 120.

Bodi took 4-25, Morgan 3-22 including the last wicket to fall, Gallagher's, Bux 2-20 including pro Harris and Henderson 1-25. Two extra bowling points were gained.

In reply, Todmorden knocked off the total with almost 11 overs to spare, opener Simon Newbitt leading the way with a half century. His end total of 56 saw him find the boundary ten times. Matthew Brierley fell for 15 to Harris, who also claimed the wickets of Newbitt, Bodi and Henderson (2).

Priestley was joined by Andrew Sutcliffe when the winning runs of this 12 point six wicket victory were struck, the veteran having scored 27.
