ANGLERS have a number of key meetings and their Christmas matches on the agenda over the next few weeks.
Todmorden Angling Society’s meeting to decide next year’s match programme is next Wednesday, November 2, at 8pm and will be held at Todmorden Working Men’s Social Club, Halifax Road, Todmorden.
The club’s annual meeting is held at the same venue on November 9 - this has a 7.30pm prompt start.
All 2011 members are welcome to attend and items on this year’s agenda include banning members taking their dogs when they go fishing, banning any kind of barbed hook, limiting the amount of fish which can kept at any one time in keep nets to 50lb and increasing subscriptions.
The senior members’ annual Christmas match will be held on Sunday, December 11, this year, with the draw being made at the Falcon Hotel, Littleborough, up to 9am.
Anglers will then fish waters at Croft and Town House from 10am to 1pm.
Tickets are £12 and this includes pie and peas in the pub after the match, a £6 pool and bacon butties, tea and coffee at the draw.
This year’s junior Christmas match will be fished on Sunday, November 6 at Town House with the draw made at 10am - ring Ian Griffiths on 01706 839145 or 07737 326812 to book on.
The senior match prizes and senior and junior trophy presentations will be made at the Falcon Hotel, Littleborough, on December 11, after the senior match.
