Centre Vale hosts national bowls competition

Centre Vale Park, Todmorden, plays host on Sunday to the British Crown Green Championships.

Twelve teams from all over the North and Midlands will compete for the title.

Play starts at 10am and catering facilities will be available all through the day with play likely to run through till teatime.

Organiser David Sutcliffe, who is a member of the British Crown Green Bowling management committee, said Todmorden had been chosen to stage the event because it is one of the few clubs to have four bowling greens which can be used simultaneously.
