Nugent cheers might not come naturally!
DESPITE the international break, they're coming thick and fast.
It seems Burnley supporters have only just time to draw breath following the away day at Chelsea with news that Liverpool are next up at Anfield on Saturday - and with a new but familiar face in the ranks.
Burnley swooped on transfer deadline day to add David Nugent to the ranks from Portsmouth and it's safe to say he's well known in these parts.
Nuge had a fractious relationship with Burnley supporters, leading the line for close rivals Preston North End.
He was firmly in the place of a long line of Preston strikers, currently headed by Jon Parkin and Neil Mellor but also including the Macken/Basham partnership and most notoriously ex-Claret Kurt Nogan, who have worked their way under supporters skin.
His new beginning was scheduled to begin in the fund-raising friendly against Accrington on Tuesday night
His reception has certainly been mixed but he has plenty to prove, having not been a regular feature in the Portsmouth side, so this could work.
In the meantime Burnley must put aside their memory of that 3-0 defeat against Chelsea before reaching Anfield. Although the midfield and attack had a lack-lustre day, Burnley's beleaguered defence (with another brilliant Brian Jensen display, despite conceding three) did not play badly against a Blues outfit who were simply in unstoppable form.
Clarets must look to catch Liverpool on an off day and be at their best to get anything out of Saturday. We probably don't expect to, but then again, most supporters would have snapped your hand off if offered six points from Manchester United and Everton, so at this stage we're certainly not complaining.
