SHANNON A defeated the pub’s B team to ensure they not only won Todmorden Mixed Darts Winter League’s A Division but also kept their 100 per cent win rate.

The result also meant a play-off for the runners-up position, which saw TWMSC beat Shannon B to clinch second spot.

The final matches saw maximum 180s from two TWMSC players, D. Hargreaves and B. Maguire, while there were good finishes from Shannon B’s M. Starszczuk (158) and TWMSC’s D. Hargreaves (96).

Over the A Division season, Shannon A’s Tony Gill hit most 180s (five) while the highest checkout of the campaign came from Glen View A’s J. Trickett (167).

Best B Division performances of the night saw two 180s, from Royal George B’s D. Hitchen and Cornholme Waggon’s P. Maguire. Best checkout of the night was J. Schofield’s 124 for Royal George B - which included a bull finish.

Over the season, Weavers’ Chris Inman hit most 180s (three) and the same player hit the highest checkout of the year (138).

The league’s singles semi-finals and pairs knockout competitions will be played at the York Hotel on April 12.

Players should note that the scratch time for all competitions is 8.30pm.

This is also the last datde for teams to enter the Charity Knockout, as the draw will take place on the same night.
