IT was disappointment from cricket players and fans throughout Todmorden this weekend as chances of silverware crumbled.
It was especially bad for Todmorden who crashed out of two semi-finals.
First they lost in the Twenty/20 competition at Nelson, on Friday and then again in a dramatic finish with Ramsbottom in the Worsley Cup at Centre Vale on Sunday.
Coupled to that they lost to the same team in the league the day before.
At Walsden too there was cup disappointment as they were never in the running in the semi-fianl of the Wood Cup at Royton, even though they had a good win the day before in the league over Clifton.
It was left to the two clubs’ second teams to provide a silver lining with a Burton Cup semi-final win for Walsden over Norden to follow a good league victory the day before over Clifton and for Todmordcn it was a semi-final victory over Rishton.
