TODMORDEN Quiz League’s knockout competition is now under way.
In the first round, at Centre Vale the handicap was of no help to Todmorden CC who were demolished by Hare and Hounds A.
Another team whose handicap didn’t help was Weavers, who suffered a similar fate at the hands of Cornholme Waggon who posted a massive points total.
It was much closer at Bridge End where the home team had a storming first round and although the lead swapped throughout Shannon just held on for victory. Queen won convincingly against Royal George whose handicap was of no benefit on the night.
Last night players were competing in the individual sports brain competition at Jack’s House, with the Handicap Knockout resuming on April 25 - this has been drawn as follows: Cornholme Waggon v Hare and Hounds B; Queen v Shannon; Jack’s House v Hare and Hounds A; Woodpecker v Polished Knob.
Results were: Todmorden CC 51, Hare and Hounds A 81; Weavers 74, Cornholme Waggon 91; Bridge End 69, Shannon 71; Royal George 62, Queen 71.
