Brighouse beaten by late goal

Brighouse Town conceded a late goal to lose 1-0 at home to Bamber Bridge in the NPL’s first division north last night.

Alistair Waddecar struck with two minutes left to give the visitors a double, having won the first meeting 3-0 early last month.

Town, who remain 14th in the table, complete their season at home to Mossley on Saturday.

Greetland Reserves were confirmed Halifax AFL Division Two champions last night when a Karl Jowett hat-trick gave them a 3-1 win away to Shelf United Reserves.

Shelf FC will pip long time leaders St Columbas to second spot on goal difference if they beat visitors Sowerby Bridge Reserves in their last match on Saturday.

Kyle Peel’s six goals helped them to a 10-1 win over AFC Crossleys Reserves last night.
