Brighouse hit goal drought

Brighouse Town let another two home points slip when they were held to a goalless draw by Trafford last night.

It follows their 1-0 home defeat to Lancaster City on Saturday and means they have scored only one goal in their last four games and three in their last six matches.

The point was enough to take Brighouse back to the top of the Evo-Stik NPL’s first division north.

However, chasing pair Farsley Celtic and Lancaster have now played two games fewer. Farsley and fourth-placed Glossop North End, also one point behind, could overtake Brighouse tonight.

Glossop are at Goole and it would be no surprise if Brighouse representatives are in the crowd because Town visit Glossop at the weekend.
