Clarets Corner with John Greenwood: Scott’s my man of the season, so far

I’d have settled for a point away at Crystal Palace, and I’, not going to let the penalty miss take the shine off it for me.

For me, Scott Arfield has been the star man of the Burnley Premiership campaign so far, that spectacular strikle against Chelsea the start of four good Prem appearances so far.

He really looks like he has grabbed his chance to up his game with both hands, and I’d wager there will be more goals in him.

On Saturday Burnley welcome Gus Poyet’s Black Cats, who have Steven Fletcher in their ranks from Clarets’ last time in the Premier League five years ago.

This is perhaps the first game Burnley shlould look to take three points from - not that Sunderland are an easy touch, far from it, but exactly the sort of home game Burnley need to emerge from as victors.

It may be a less glamorous game than the opening two, but in my opinion the Sunderland match might just be the most important so far.
