Todmorden Sports Centre under 14s have capped an excellent first season in the East Lancashire Football Alliance with a cup success.

The league runners-up, under the expert guidance of coach Steve Crowther and his assistant Bubsy Abbas, have won the East Lancashire FA Cup.

They beat Globe Bullough Park FC on penalties at AFC Darwen after extra time had failed to separate the pair.

Tod were leading 2-1 with a minute or normal time to play but Globe Bullough equalised.

They then had to keep their heads and twice came from behind in extra time, scoring with virtually the last kick.

Last season’s Halifax League Cup winners came out on top after spot kicks.

An East Lancs league representative said it was the best junior final he had ever seen.
