Danny Davidson, who scored two goals for non-league Harrogate Railway in a televised 3-2 FA Cup defeat against Mansfield in 2007, bagged a hat-trick for the Yorkshire Amateur League high-flyers.

Greetland crashed out 7-0 at Wyke Wanderers but there will be plenty of Halifax AFL interest in the next round with Illingworth St Mary’s winning 5-1 away to Otley Town, Ryburn United seeing off visitors Ilkley Town 2-1 and Shelf United registering a 2-1 home win over Whitkirk Wanderers.

Illingworth were well on the way to victory at half time at Otley, opening up a 4-1 lead.

They cruised through with Steve Cook, Scott Hamilton, Declan Rothery, Gareth Gaukroger and Michael Gregory on target.

Shelf just about deserved their win over West Yorkshire League Division One outfit Whitkirk but it was a low-key affair at Lightcliffe Academy.

The visitors had plenty of possession but created nothing, their goal coming from the penalty spot after a Hayden Finch foul on 25 minutes.

Shelf drew level from an own goal five minutes before half time, a visiting player flick-heading a corner into his own net.

The winner came 10 minutes into the second half from a sliced Dan Stoker cross which the visiting ‘keeper tipped into the net.

Illingworth St Mary’s Reserves were no match for a strong Beeston Reserves side and bowed out of the West Riding Trophy by 9-3.

Saints got off to the worst possible start, poor defending gifting the Leeds side three goals in first 15 minutes.

As the half went on Saints strike pair of Tom McGregor and Tom Holroyde started to cause some problems and it was no surprise when McGregor scored with a curling shot from the edge of the box.

Beeston continued to dominate midfield and scored another three to make it 6-1 at the break.

Illingworth reorganised and matched their opponents for spells in the second half.

Substitute Bailey Naylor produced two fine finishes to take his season tally to 15 but Beeston continued to dominate and added a further three goals.

Northowram Reserves lost 4-0 away to their Golcar United counterparts and Brighouse side Junction Inn lost 4-2 away to Skipton LMS.

Skipton started brightly, going in front early on. Junction responded immediately when Dan McCloud played in Jamie Rice, who put the ball past the Skipton keeper from five yards out.

After half time the home team went back in front and late in the game Skipton got two more goals before Kris Gorringe scored from 30 yards for Junction with the last kick of the game.
