Brighouse Town made it seven points from a possible last nine in the Northern Premier League with an excellent 3-1 win away to Spennymoor Town last night.
Their well-deserved success took them up to fifth in the First Division North table, one point behind their hosts who were losing in the league for the first time this season.
Ryan Hall gave them a great start with a goal after two minutes, picking up a clearance from ‘keeper Paul Hagreen, beating a defender and placing the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
Callum Griffths got the home side on terms after 10 minutes but goals from Ernest Boafo after 27 and 47 minutes put Paul Quinn’s side in the clear.
Boafo’s first followed a great run and cross from Hall. The striker’s second was a header after Dan Illingworth’s long throw had been allowed to bounce.
Victory sets up Brighouse perfectly for Saturday’s visit from unbeaten leaders Glossop North End.
