Woodhouse United are in great heart for this weekend’s trip to face Rochdale Sunday League Division One leaders Boundary Park.
Reece Gibson’s side followed up an excellent Halifax FA Sunday Cup victory over Waiters Arms with a 6-1 thrashing of Duke of Wellington at Heywood last weekend.
Joe Whitham and Jonny Sutcliffe scored in the first 10 minutes and although the home side halved the deficit just after half time from the penalty spot, Woodhouse stepped up a gear.
Callum Hallinan scored twice with a goal from Jordan Mirza - who got a touch to a Hallinan shot - in between.
Whittam’s second completed a runaway win in which Sutcliffe and Nathan Eaton were outstanding.
The only downside was an injury to Jordan Wheeler, who came on and played just 10 minutes before dislocating a knee and rupturing ligaments.
Assistant boss Patrick Hallinan said: “It was a good win and if we can get a similar team out next weekend we will be confident.”
