AFTER two minutes’ silence in remembrance, George, who wore their poppies with pride on their shirts, started nervy against Healey Ranger and were missing a few key players.
The absence of both centre halves meant debuts for Chris Lawless and Stewart Metcalfe.
After some pressure against the run of play Jackson Sutcliffe found his cross deflected into the back of the opposition goal.
This settled the George until just before half-time when the home side levelled the score.
George sarted the second half well and Jonny Sutcliffe had a goal disallowed. He later put the record straight and slotted home.
The home side pressed and levelled again before Lawless lobbed the opposition keeper to give George the lead with 10 minutes to go.
James Donellan then found himself in no man’s land when he was lobbed from a free-kick from the opposing half, as it finished 3-3.
It still leaves George unbeaten in six. Gaz Lawerence was outstanding in midfield and earned the of the match award.
