Golfers Lee and Mathew beat the weather

The easterly wind made the Todmorden Golf Club course difficult, but not for Lee Dearden and partner Mathew Saxon.

They came in with a winning score of 40 points to take the Rabbits prize, donated by Rod Hunt, Steve Mc Carron and Christain Godfrey. In second place were Ian Tootell and John Fowler.

David Setterfield and Peter Borders both had birdies. John Stobbs was nearest the pin with his drive on the seventh hole, while Ian Gray had the best drive on the 16th hole.

The women’s competion had to be cancelled as the course became unplayable during the day, although a few early players did manage to play a full round.
