THERE were excellent performances from each side in Bridgeholme’s Towergate Halifax League Division Two game at Low Moor.
The visitors posted a good total of 209 with Oliver Challis hitting 57 and Chris Kibbie joining in with a good knock of 51.
Challis was on hand too with the ball, taking three for 44 as Low Moor hit back to score 212 for six.
But the home side’s Mark Stokes put in an good performance, getting the ball to swing he took five for 21 as Bridgeholme were dismissed.
He then produced some clean hitting in an unbeaten 68 to give his side a last over success.
It was a similar story on Bank Holiday Monday when Bridgeholme posted a competitive target of 251 at home to Stainland, with Kibbie again in the runs with 59 and Keith Hudson top scoring on 67.
While Akhter Hussain took wickets in Stainland’s reply, their total of 256 for six owed much to a century of 119 from opener Andrew Brown.
l Bridgeholme’s second team made it two wins over the weekend. On Saturday they beat Old Crosleyans by 83 runs. Simon Harris hit a fine 70, including seven sixes.
He then took four wickets as did O.Davy-Day in the reply of 122 all out.
The latter also took three wickets on Monday as they beat Stainland by 78 runs, dismissing them for 75.
Bridgeholme had posted 153 for seven with B.Fielden top scoring on 48.
