Hebden win the chess derby

HEBDEN Bridge won the derby clash at Todmorden on Monday.

Hebden Bridge A kicked off the Calderdale Summer Team Handicap Knock-Out Tournament with a successful trip to Todmorden, where they beat Todmorden 3-2.

These handicap tournaments are always difficult to predict, as stronger players often find themselves very short of time, but the Hebden side managed a fairly comfortable win in the end.
