Jack moves up in style

A YOUNG orienteer made a dream debut in a new category at an event in Leeds on Sunday.

Jack Cryer, of Bottomley, Walsden, moved up to the M14 section for the Airienteers cross country meeting in Middleton Park and won the light green course in a time of 33 minutes and 55 seconds, 46 seconds ahead of second place.

Jack’s dad, Paul, said: “It was a really good result.

“It was a level C event, which is quite a big one. It’s a big achievement.”

Jack is a member of the Pendle Forest Orienteers club and last year was selected in the North West of England junior squad.
