Angling: Busy time ahead for anglers

NINETEEN people fished Todmorden Angling Society's match on Croft on July 13.

Results: 1 Frank Szakaley, 19lb 12oz, carp on method feeds and meat; 2 Steven Walsh, 14lb, carp as above; 3 Dean Turner, 12lb, on pole/pellet.

A match was held on the Townhouse section on July 20, fished by 17 members.

Results: 1 Dave Nightingale, 20lb 8oz, carp on feeds and pellet; 2 Rob McEndry, 14lb 12oz, carp/pole/meat; 3 Lee Cavanagh, 11lb 6oz, silver fish/caster.

Last Sunday's open match was on Croft.

Results: 1 John McFarland, 31lb, carp on pole/paste; 2 Steve Walsh, 29lb, 4oz, on tip/meat; 3 Ian Ridgeway, 22lb, on pole/meat.

Tonight's junior match is on the canal - sewage works. Ring 07769 905319 to book on.

The next open match is on Sunday, August 1, on the Dead Length - Warland section of the Rochdale Canal. Ring 07769 905319 to book on.

Next Tuesday, August 3, the match will be on Townhouse.

The grand official re-opening of Ramsden Wood Fishery is on Sunday August 22.

There will be a taster day from 10am until 4pm for anybody to come and try angling.
