Angling: Victory for ice man Lee

TODMORDEN Angling Society's trophy match at Town House was fished by 18 members in very cold conditions - ice had to be broken before fishing could commence!

Lee Kavanagh's catches weighed in at more than 19lb and included carp caught on feeder fished pellet.

John Mellor, who included carp and some skimmers caught using pole-fished pellet was second with Graham Mallinson, using pole fished pellet or pinkie, caught silver fish and clinched third place.

Fish of the day was a tench of 6oz caught by Graham Mallinson and worth 33 to the angler. Result: 1, L/ Kavanagh, 19lb 9oz; 2, J. Mellor, 11lb 6oz; 3, G. Mallinson, 3lb 7oz.

Ramsden Wood Fishery is currently being renovated with a new spillway, draw-down valve, fishing platforms and paths. All work should be finished around Easter.
