Coaching is a smash hit with youngsters

YOUNGSTERS with a desire to become the next Andy Murray or Samantha Robson have been making the most of special sessions being held at Todmorden Sports Centre.

Since November the group, aged between 5 and 10, has been enjoying a series of Tuesday afternoon sessions.

For some it has been an introduction to tennis while others have been able to practice and improve their game but they have all come along and joined in the fun.

There are still some weeks left and places available for anyone who would like to give it a try.

The sessions have been a joint promotion by Calderdale Community Tennis Partnership, Activity and Community Development, Brooksbank School Sports Partnership and Todmorden Tennis Club.

Junior tennis sessions will start at Todmorden Tennis Club on Friday, May 7 between 4 and 5pm for 5 to 10yrs and 5 to 6pm for 10 to 18yrs.

Girls and boys can just turn up and have a go and for those new to the groups there are two free taster sessions.
