They were headed by Copley’s Chris Dennison, who enhanced his reputation as one of the most destructive batsmen in the league with 226 not out against a Northowram Hedge Top side struggling to find their feet in the top flight.

The powerful left-hander smashed 18 sixes and 17 fours on his home ground as Copley piled up 343 for two.

The shellshocked Rams managed only one batting point in reply, Kier Litjens making 42 runs in their reply of 128 with Ian Hartley taking four wickets.

Also in the Premier, Warley’s Chris Marsh hit 115 as his side thrashed hosts Thornton by 231 runs.

Warley racked up 313 for seven, with Dan Syme unbeaten on 57. Greg Keywood, John Currie and Luke Duckitt then shared the home wickets as Thornton were rolled over for 82.

Two players made three figures at Triangle but home skipper Christian Silkstone finished the day happier than Booth’s Hasnain Wajid with the hosts prevailing by seven wickets.

Wajid made 105 to help Booth to 276 for nine but that sort of score never guarantees success at Grassy Bottom and Silkstone hit a century in just 53 balls, finishing on 107 not out.

Triangle all-rounder Tom Fryer also enjoyed the afternoon with five for 53 and 63 runs.

Richard Price hit 101 not out for Sowerby Bridge in a 70-run win at Blackley, who are joint bottom with Northowram

However, Ashton Richardson played just as important role as the visitors hit back from an unpromising 56 for five.,

Price and Richardson (79 not out) added 181 for the sixth wicket to lift the total to 237 for six and Richardson then took four for 11 as Blackley were dismissed for 167.

Leaders Jer Lane continued their unbeaten start at Sowerby St Peter’s but were made to work much harder than seemed likely at one stage.

At 25 for six, Sowerby were in all sorts of trouble but they rallied to post 151 with No 10 Gavin Hayes’ 32 the top contribution.

The game was in the balance with Lane 129 for seven but Nasir Chowdrey’s 42 not out bailed out the visitors.

He managed over a century in fours alone (104) as Crocs posted 301 for eight. Stones were never really in the contest after that and lost by 145 runs, Jack Hemblys taking five for 44.

Low Moor’s troubled start to the season continued when they were dismissed for 59 at Great Horton PC, who won by eight wickets. Extras top scored with 15, as Stuart Fenton took five for 30.

Opener Jamie Priestley’s 86 not out ensured a Queensbury victory against visitors Oxenhope after Gurdev Sigh had taken five for 77.

Southowram might consider reversing their batting order if the visit to Bridgeholme is another to go by. More than half their 242 runs came from no 9 Daniel Pummell (63 no) and No 10 Steven Hawksworth (72).

It was still to no avail, however, as skipper Chris Kibble’s 73 spurred the Eastwood side to a two-wicket win, utilising overs that the rams had handed over.

There were two hat-tricks at Luddenden Foot, one from the home side’s Isaac Baldwin and another from Shelf’s Robert Ramsden.

However, it was very much the visitors’ day because they won the Division Two contest by the massive margin of 310 runs.

Baldwin’s three wickets in three balls was the limit of his success as Shelf piled up 394 for six with 108 not out from Shabaz Hussain and other major contributions from Babar Maiik, with a whirlwind 88 not out, Bill Sugden (55) and Craig Green (68). Hussain and Malik added 190.

Ramsden then matched Baldwin’s feat and emerged with figures of seven for 38 to shatter Foot for 84.

Jack Brook’s knock of 57 not out proved decisive in Outlane’s home victory against lowly Greetland.

Dean Cotton (92 no) and Connor Ryan (62 no) helped Bradshaw power past Clayton’s all out total of 205 after coming together at 42 for two.

Batsmen were well on top at Cullingworth. The hosts’ Graham Rankin top scored with 88 but Denholme Clough produced the better overall team performance to prevail by eight runs.
