Cricket: Rawlinson smashes Walsden runs record - and Perera re-signs for 2011

Although it was a pointless weekend for Walsden, it was another milestone for batsman James Rawlinson, who with his innings on Saturday became the club's record run scorer.

His total for the season reached 1,216 to beat David Blake's 2008 record of 1,210, and James also holds the highest individual score of 137.

He has now set his sights on winning this year's Frank Worrell Trophy for the Central Lancashire League's leading amateur score.

The club have also received good news in that professional Duminda Perera has re-signed for season 2011. His figures at present are 1,112 runs and 60 wickets for the season to date.
