WALSDEN Cricket Club will be hosting the prestigious J.W.Lees Wood Cup final for the second time on Sunday.

It was a case of what might have been for Walsden for they were beaten by seven wickets in the semi-final by Unsworth, who now meet Milnrow at Scott Street (1.30pm).

Milnrow have won the cup nine times in the past although the last time was in 1996.

It will be the first time in thye final for Unsworth, who only joined the Central Lancashire League in 1989.

Walsden have staged the league's important cup competition final only once before in 2003 - the first time it had been played in Yorkshire.

New seating has been installed at Scott Street and extra seating is also being brought in.

Entry will be 5 (2.50 concessions.)

One of this year's finalists, Milnrow, were also in that game, but lost to Heywood.

Two former top Calderdale cricketers will be in the final for Milnrow - Paul Winrow and Alex Schofield, who has also played Todmorden.
