Cricket: Win one, lose one for seconds

Todmorden seconds won a rain affected game at Centre Vale on Saturday.

They owed most of their total of 153 for nine to a superb innings of 84 by James Crossley as the rest of Todmorden's batsmen struggled.

In reply opponents Colne could only manage 119 for eight in 32 overs.

Hussain Abbas got four for 41 and I. Hussain three for 32.

While the two bowlers repeated their feat with almost identical figures the following day, Todmorden were pipped by three wickets at Enfield.

The visitors reached a total of 137 all out with opener Tom Marsh leading the way with a top score of 56.

Then despite the efforts of the Todmorden bowlers the home side reached 138 for seven.
