Football: Hot-shot Kay has no problem with Houston

Todmorden Borough Res 1 Lytham Town Res 0 (Houston Cup)

BOROUGH overcame an in-form Lytham side to reach the next round of the cup.

It was a difficult return after an enforced layoff and the heavy pitch conditions were not conducive to silky football.

Dave Kay got the Todmorden goal and performed well alongside Peavoy in midfield.

Centre-half Daniel Lively also performed well and was an uncompromising presence at the back on the occasions that Lytham threatened.

l Goals from Adams and Saxton gave Borough's first team a point as they drew 2-2 at Lancashire Constabulary.

l Borough's veterans side lost 4-0 at Whitworth Valley in the Rochdale Online Alliance League.

Jack's House pushed Sudden Carling all the way but lost out in the Division one fixture.
