Football: Super save denies Jack's House

Jack''s House 2 Wardle 2nd 2 Rochdale Alliance

HOUSE earned a share of the points against bottom of the table Wardle in a hard-fought game at the Rec.

They began well and a couple of early chances fell to midfielder Johnny Barnes, one effort being denied by a fine save from the visiting goalkeeper.

It remained scoreless at the interval and House began the second-half well too with Gaz Barnes giving his side the lead when he drilled a shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Wardle equalised within five minutes and then took the lead from a corner.

House's equaliser came from a familiar source – a Jake Goldie free-kick – and Jamie Bull was denied by an unbelievable save from the visiting goalkeeper who somehow managed to claw his goalbound header to safety.

Left back Chris Wooler gave a man of the match performance as House claimed a deserved point.
