TOD Sports U11s were out-played and out-fought in this difficult fixture against the league leaders

The skilful Ryburn team had the ball in the back of the net twice in the first 10 minutes.

Tod gradually got into the game, but then conceded another goal from a corner, to go 0 – 3 down at half-time

In the second half Tod played better - with every member of the team producing individual moments of merit

However, these moments were isolated and the ball trickled over the line for Ryburns fourth.

Ryburn were a very good side and Tod looked a bit rusty, but they can play a lot better.

TSC WASPS u8s played their part in a six goal thriller that ended in defeat.

The started brighter and an opening goal came from the right boot of Barney Mellor.

Against the run of play Saints equalised thanks to high clearance that looped over Ben Barker’s head.

Saints rallied and could have ended the half in the lead but Barker made a fine save and there was a goal-line clearance from the rebound.

Early in the second half had Saints took the lead.

Wasps responded well, but Aiden Schofield’s shot went wide.

They Wasps conceded again when a poor defensive clearance fell to the Saints striker who tapped the ball in from close range.

Second half substitute. Max Duffy’s powerful effort bounced off the Saints keeper.

Wasps were grateful to keeper Ben Barker who produced another fine save.

In the final minutes, the Saints scored the goal of the game which effectively sealed the win. A superb volley dipped just over Ben Barker’s outstretched hand to end the game.
