Junior football: TSC sides in action
Todmorden Sports Centre U-7 6 Todmorden Borough U-7 3
TSC claimed the local bragging rights in style on a freezing morning.
Borough fought valiantly but were always on the back foot against skillful and determined opposition.
Strikers Jacob Entwistle and Ben Ormerod were both in sparkling form for the home team and grabbed all the goals but it was a fine all-round team effort with Luke Henson and Alfie Connors commanding at the back, and Max Goldie and Max Dawson dominant in midfield.
Ormerod opening the scoring for TSC after only three minutes after a trademark mazy run and low drive and Entwistle added a second five minutes later, coolly chipping the visiting keeper with his left foot.
But the visitors fought back doggedly and clawed two goals back just before the interval, despite the best efforts of keeper James Hartley.
New keeper Diarmuid Pritchard was forced into making two great saves for TSC as Borough pushed forward, but Ormerod restored the home team's advantage with a clinical finish after good work from Harvey Lucaszyk and Entwistle grabbed his second with another fine left-footed finish from distance.
Entwistle then completed his hat-trick when firing home from close range after charging down a goal-kick and immediately hit his fourth and TSC's sixth with a clever flick that wrong footed the keeper.
Borough, to their credit, stuck to their task and pulled one back right on the final whistle.

HAFC Juniors U-8 0
TSC overcame sub zero temperatures and put on a display of pass and move football to overcome a spirited HAFC side at the Sports Centre.
The day started badly as they lost talismanic keeper Leo Bragg to illness but the Todmorden players agreed to rotate the keeper's duties between them with six players taking the role during the game.
Todmorden dominated the midfield with man of the match Patrick Thompson working tirelessly from'box to box, breaking up the opposition moves and distributing passes to the forwards.
He was assisted by Cameron Emery and Thomas Eatherall who made surging runs up the flanks and contributed passes and support to the many Sports Centre attacks.
Sam Kelly and Jacob Brackstone kept things tight at the back, protecting the makeshift keepers and also found time to make the odd foray forward.
In attack William Jones grabbed two well finished goals and Harry Law skillfully backheeled Eatherall's cross into the HAFC net.
Brackstone also contributed a long range effort but the pick of the scorers was Lucas Sorrell. Sorrell who netted six times from the nine chances that fell to him and was virtually unstoppable when he had the ball.
TSC also hit the woodwork three times
